Information, biography, notes, photos
Loukas Yorkas is a Greek singer and model. He was born in Cyprus on October 18, 1986.
Loukas is the eldest of four brothers.
Loukas Yorkas was interested in music from childhood: he learned to play the guitar, enjoyed it, he got a diploma, and then spent 5 years studying Byzantine music, he played the trombone and drums in a symphony orchestra. At the age of 12, he participated in a singing competition and won his first prize.
Loukas was also passionate about football and even achieved success. However, the Greek public knows
Loukas Yorkas as a participant and winner of the first Greek X-Factor, though he never planned to become a singer and was studying biology. At his parents' suggestion, he decided to participate in the competition, especially since it was taking place in Athens.
Loukas has not yet completed his studies, remaining in his third year, but he still hopes to finish.
Loukas Yorkas has sung many songs in the "laïka" style, which is no longer particularly valued among young people, though it was precisely this that made me like him, and he won. In May 2011,
Loukas Yorkas participated in
Eurovision 2011 in Germany: after the first semi-final, where he represented Greece with the song "Watch My Dance,"
Loukas advanced to the final and took 7th place. He performed the song together with hip-hopper Stereo Mike (Michalis Exarchos).
Loukas Yorkas loved and respected
Dimitris Mitropanos, saying that next to him, despite his own height of 190cm, he felt only 120cm tall, even though Mitropanos himself wasn’t very tall =)
Loukas Yorkas' Facebook group.
Loukas Yorkas' Twitter, it seems he writes himself, but it's boring.
He got married in 2023.
